Any idea why AMC is running The Roaring Twenties on Thursday the 22nd at 1:45?

Hello Jake! Thank you for following up about that. I actually deleted Roaring Twenties from the listing because when I followed the showtimes link on the AMC website it took me somewhere else so I assumed it was a mistake. But now you can indeed buy tickets for that show on the 22nd at 1:45 (I see two tickets sold, in fact). I have no idea what is going on there. Could be some kind of theater rental? But I've never seen them post a theater rental with tickets for the general public, and it is an odd time.

The Mission Impossible "Opening Day Fan Event" is also on the 22nd at 2pm in the IMAX. I wonder if it is some kind of shenanigans related to that. I'm probably not going to investigate it much further, but if I do hear something I'll be sure to post it here. For now I'm going to add it back to the list.

It was a perfectly standard AMC screening, despite its repertory nature and odd time. They similarly have a screening of "Meet Me In Saint Louis" (1944) scheduled for Thursday, June 19th at 1:30PM. It was a 6$ ticket despite neither being listed under their usual 6$ "Fan Faves" listing (which they're, admittedly, bad at populating, even when screenings are labeled as such). Why they do such a bad job of scheduling and promoting these things, I can't imagine, though there is currently a little placard at the ticket desk mentioning the June 19th screening.

Hello JoAnne! There's a bit of an update about this in the next post. Channel3000.com reports that this is part of a series for seniors at retirement homes and independent living apartments in the area, but anyone is welcome to buy a ticket. https://www.channel3000.com/entertainment/amc-to-debut-first-ever-film-series-designed-for-seniors-at-fitchburg-theater/article_4513ce99-8530-49a6-8566-7157d679a5c6.html

I saw that after I posted on this one. The series continues past August with "Easter Parade" (Sep. 18) and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" (Oct 16, the 1941 Hitchcock one...though I sort of like the idea of them screening the 2005 Pitt/Jolie one "for seniors".) There were 10 or 12 people at "The Roaring Twenties". They also have a couple of screenings of "The Wizard of Oz" in November, but I'ven't any idea if that's related to the series.
